Phase 3

Orforglipron — Eli Lilly

ATTAIN Phase 3 program results expected late 2025–2026. First true oral GLP-1 pill — no food restrictions. Could be the next drug approved after CagriSema.

2027–2028 — Possible Approval Window
Phase 3

Retatrutide — Eli Lilly

TRIUMPH Phase 3 results expected 2025–2026. Triple agonist with highest Phase 2 weight loss of any drug in history (~24%). NDA submission and 12-month FDA review to follow.

Phase 3

MariTide — Amgen

MARITIME Phase 3 underway. Monthly dosing with ~20% Phase 2 weight loss. Bispecific antibody — a fundamentally different drug type from all existing GLP-1 therapies.

2029–2030 — Early Pipeline

Important: Timelines are estimates, not guarantees

Drug development timelines shift frequently. A single unexpected safety signal in Phase 3 can delay or stop a program entirely. Multiple drugs with strong Phase 2 results have failed to reach approval. The timelines above reflect the most optimistic realistic scenarios based on publicly available trial data as of May 2026. Always verify with current sources before making treatment decisions.
